OK - so today we got an extremely late start - I ended up going to bed around 3 am so I finally got up at 12:30. We got into DC by 3 and jumped on the Tourmobile which we had a 2nd day paid for. We ended up going to see the Vietname Memorial by day, then we walked up the Reflection Pool to the Washington Monument just in time to get caught in a shower. We saw some rainbows, hightailed to the museum which turned out to be closed so we headed back down. The rain decided to stop then and so we headed to the White House. I got the prerequisite picture of me in front fo the GW's house - and then we walked back exploring.

We had dinner at Ollie's Trolleys which had some pretty good dinner. We then spied a Barnes and Noble and of course we had to duck in. Today was quiet except for the fact that we decided to get some of the Lincoln Memorial at night along with the wall, which I didn't see yesterday. I stayed so late trying to get my perfect picture that I counted on getting a taxi to take us to the metro. Well at 11:15 I decided I was done for the night - headed over to the taxi line and VOILA! No taxis to be seen. I didn't panic for the first 5 minutes but after as it was hitting 11:20, I did. I told Megan we would have to hightail it walking back to Foggy Bottom station when I looked back and I saw a life-saving taxi. Let me tell you folks, I was never so relieved to see a taxi as I was at that moment - the monuments was still open but in the back of my head I knew that the metro's "last train" was at midnight. Anyways, the taxi took us to the 13th and G Street metro and kindly waited for us to make it downstairs before he took off - I thought how nice - so of course I tipped him. The first one that has waited for us to get down below. LOL - I like the sound of that.

So here I am back in the room at 1 am and tomorrow I have decided I really want to hit Mount Vernon before the weekend. So I am going to sign off for now and hope you enjoy the pictures!
