Sea Day Sound Off, May 17th pt 2

Sea Day, May 17, 2008
Tonight was Semi-formal night and not a lot of people dressed up. Steve and I did but we showed up late. Tonight was Twice Charmed and it seems that we have not attended but one show. I prefer to think of it as not missing them but saving them to see them with great company! J
The dinner menu was The Prince and Princes Dinner and the drink of the day was Razz Cooler. I took the advice of Dr. Phil – our beverage server and ordered Rivera which had Vanilla Vodka, Amaretto, Cranberry Juice and pineapple juice. It was actually very good. For appetizers I ordered the Crisp Ravioli Filled with Cheese and Steve ordered the Scallops “Belle” which was scallops baked in Lobster Bisque with a spaghetti of vegetables and topped with crispy pastry. He had moments of
For the soups and salad section I ordered the Coronation of mixed leaves which was vine tomatoes, blue cheese, apples, candied walnuts and aged red wine vinegar. It was tart but good. Steve ordered the chicken noodle soup from the kids menu – his usual. For the main course we both ordered the chicken and mushroom Wellington. Dessert consisted of the ice princess triple roll for me and it was ok – a bit sweet but ok. Steve ordered the chocolate slipper – AND jell-o from the kids menu.
I was still a bit miffed but decided to remember I was on vacation. Once we got to the dinner table, my adopted family cheered me up. Nothing like a good swapping of in-laws tales or horror tales to cheer me up! LOL – just kidding, we did talk in-laws but Maria – the matriarch reminds me so much of my mother that she just makes me laugh. OMG! That is it – that is why we connected. She reminds me of my mother. My mother is a sweet; lady who is really one of the last genuine person from the old school. EVERYONE who meets her loves her and vice a versa. Maria – doesn’t hurt that my mom’s name is also Maria, has 6 kids, like my mom – but where we have 4 girls and 2 boys – she has 2 girls and 4 boys. Anyway, suffice it to say, she is really a crack-up.
So that was it. Except for the fact that at lunch today Steve made a comment to our waiter whom we just happened to get, about the beverage service. Well, I tried to clarify it because Steve commented he would write on the comment card that beverage service was slow. I tried to tell him that if he did, Putu (Agus) would also get a bad rating. Well, at dinner, our head server, Hemant came up to me and asked me some questions. I told him that we would talk after dinner. At that time, I told Hemant that it wasn’t bad service – it was a bit slow but it was because Phil AKA Dr. Phil tended to get distracted by his enthusiasm to be there. I re-iterated that I would much rather have a server like Phil, one who is ALWAYS laughing and trying hard to please with a penchant for getting distracted than a very competent beverage server who doesn’t smile much of the time. So Hement said that he had talked to both Putu/Agus and Phil and that he told them to improve their service. So that is how Steve and I got Dr. Phil in trouble. He was much better today but a bit subdued. Steve was tired (same old, same old) and we went to bed. So here I am updating my blog. Tomorrow is another sea day and the DIS is holding their jammie breakfast and group photo at 9 so maybe its best that I go to bed early. Not sure if I will attend but I may. Then at 2:45, we are meeting “Trixie” at the Quiet Cove Pool to additional clues to finding the missing portrait of the Capt. Anyone knew who did it? LOL
Take care for now. Later -

So is the mystery at sea the exact same as it has been on repos past? Or is it still the picture missing, but the clues and ending different? I will still go either way. I loved that part of the longer cruises!
